Aleksandrs Rozens, Vice President, Financial Writer

Aleksandrs Rozens works across the firm’s private equity, asset management, Impact investing, and fintech verticals, overseeing content development. Bringing over 30 years of experience in journalism and media relations, Aleksandrs helps conceive and create content on behalf of clients, ranging from white papers and research to bylined articles, video scripts, strategic talking points, and traditional marketing copy.

Prior to joining BackBay, Aleksandrs was a manager of external communications at Fannie Mae where he supported the government sponsored enterprise’s Economic & Strategic Research group, its Multifamily and Single-Family businesses and its credit risk transfer programs.

Previously, Aleksandrs spent nearly three decades in journalism, having served as an editor at Bloomberg where he founded its award-winning Bloomberg Brief real estate and bankruptcy newsletters and helped create Bloomberg’s corporate bankruptcy index. He was editor-in-chief of Investment Dealers’ Digest, a correspondent with Reuters, and a journalist with Associated Press, Knight Ridder and Dow Jones. He has written about commercial and residential real estate, macroeconomic issues, corporate and municipal bankruptcies, initial public offerings, private equity, venture capital and initial public offerings. Aleksandrs received a B.A. from Fordham University where he majored in Soviet Studies and minored in English Literature.

Aleksandrs lives in Scarsdale, New York, with his wife and his son. He enjoys kayaking and hiking with his family and has illustrated and written children’s books.
