Bill Haynes
President and Founder

Bill Haynes has 20 years of financial services marketing and public relations experience including senior positions at Arnold Worldwide, Weber Shandwick, Scudder Investments, and Ogilvy Public Relations.  His client experience includes: ACG (Association for Corporate Growth), Advisors Asset Management, Ameritrade, ArcLight Capital Partners, Brown Brothers Harriman, Chubb Corporation, CWCapital, Drum Capital Management, Eaton Vance, Goodwin Procter, Grant Thornton, Heritage Partners, Lava Trading, Majestic Research, Pipeline Trading, Scudder, TA Associates, and Zurich Financial.  Bill has received NASD Series 6 and Series 63 licenses. Bill holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Princeton University and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago. He is married with two children.

 

Phil Nunes

Vice President

As a Vice President, Phil Nunes develops brand positioning and creates and executes comprehensive strategic communications programs, specializing in corporate communications.  He has nearly 20 years of expertise working with financial and professional services firms, public and private. His client experience includes managing public relations initiatives on behalf of Advisors Asset Management, Ameritrade, Citi/Lava Trading, Drum Capital Management, Foley Hoag, Grant Thornton, Goodwin Procter and TA Associates.  Phil joined BackBay Communications from Arnold Worldwide.  Previously, he worked at the Massachusetts Senate where he served as Communications Director for the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, and GTE Government Systems.  He also has experience as a reporter for a daily newspaper.  Phil holds a B.S., with honors, in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and an M.S. in Journalism from Boston University. 

 

Peter Czyryca

Account Supervisor

Peter Czyryca, an Account Supervisor at BackBay Communications, focuses writing, editing, and media relations, regularly securing profile and thought leadership articles for clients in national print and broadcast, as well as trade media. His client experience includes the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), CWCapital, Majestic Research, and Pipeline Trading. Peter’s work experience includes compliance analyst for John Hancock Advisers, where he worked closely with their legal team and portfolio managers to assure SEC compliance of the Hancock Funds. Prior to BackBay Communications, Peter was Assistant Director of Communications for a private school in the suburbs of Boston.  Peter has also worked as a freelance reporter for the Community Newspaper Company (the Canton and Stoughton Journals), a subsidiary of The Boston Herald.  Peter has received a NASD Series 7 license.  He holds his M.A. in Print & Multimedia Journalism from Emerson College and his B.A. in Communication from the University of Dayton. 

 

Jen Dowd

Senior Account Executive

JenDowd, a Senior Account Executive at BackBay Communications, focuses on media relations and the development and production of marketing materials for several clients including Advisors Asset Management, the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and StarCompliance Software.  Jen joined BackBay from a Boston-based financial communications firm specializing in the asset management industry.  Prior to that, Jen served as an Editorial Assistant for Euromoney magazine in London.  Jen holds an M.A. in Ancient History from University College London, and a B.A. in Classics and English from the College of Charleston.

Megan Ryan

Account Coordinator

Meg Ryan, an Account Coordinator at BackBay Communications, focuses on research and media relations for several clients, including the Association Corporate Growth (ACG) and Drum Capital Management. Prior to BackBay, Meg was a Princeton Project 55 Fellow at the educational nonprofit organization Global Kids, where she served as the Development and Communications Assistant. Previously, she served as a Roma rights advocate at an international public interest law organization in Budapest, Hungary. Meg holds a B.A. from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
