Bill Haynes
President and Founder

Bill Haynes has 20 years of financial services marketing and public relations experience including senior positions at several global communications agencies and an asset management company.  His client experience includes: ACG (Association for Corporate Growth), Advisors Asset Management, Ameritrade, Black Canyon Capital, Brown Brothers Harriman, Chubb Corporation, Constitution Capital Partners, Goodwin Procter, Grant Thornton, Heritage Partners, IRON Financial, Karen Clark & Company, Citi/Lava Trading, Majestic Research, MidMarket Capital Advisors, Pamlico Capital, Pipeline Trading, River Associates, The Riverside Company, Scudder, Streambank, The Sterling Group, and TA Associates.  Bill has received Series 6 and Series 63 licenses. Bill holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Princeton University and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago.

 

Phil Nunes

Senior Vice President

Phil Nunes develops brand positioning and creates and executes comprehensive strategic communications programs, specializing in corporate communications.  He has nearly 20 years of experience working with financial and professional services firms, public and private.  His experience includes managing public relations initiatives on behalf of Advisors Asset Management, Ameritrade, ACG (Association for Corporate Growth), Black Canyon Capital, Citi/Lava Trading, Constitution Capital Partners, Dutchess Capital Management, Drum Capital Management, Foley Hoag, Grant Thornton, Goodwin Procter, Heritage Partners, IRON Financial, Karen Clark & Company, SJ Levinson, Streambank, The Sterling Group and TA Associates.  Phil joined BackBay Communications from Arnold Worldwide.  Previously, he worked at the Massachusetts Senate where he served as Communications Director for the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, and GTE Government Systems.  Phil holds a B.S., with honors, in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and an M.S. in Journalism from Boston University. 

 

Peter Czyryca

Director

Peter Czyryca, a Director at BackBay Communications, focuses on writing, editing, and media relations, regularly securing profile and thought leadership commentary for clients in national print and broadcast, as well as trade media. His client experience includes Advisors Asset Management (AAM), the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), CWCapital, Majestic Research, MidMarket Capital Advisors, and Pipeline Trading. Peter’s work experience includes compliance analyst for John Hancock Advisers, where he worked closely with their legal team and portfolio managers to assure SEC compliance of the Hancock Funds. Prior to BackBay Communications, Peter was Assistant Director of Communications for a private school in the suburbs of Boston.  Peter has also worked as a freelance reporter.  Peter has received a NASD Series 7 license.  He holds his M.A. in Print & Multimedia Journalism from Emerson College and his B.A. in Communication from the University of Dayton. 

 

Jen Dowd

Director

Jen Dowd, a Director at BackBay Communications, manages BackBay's New York office, serving existing clients and working on new business development.  Jen focuses on marketing and media relations for several clients including Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Consensus Advisors, GF Data Resources, Grant Thornton, Pamlico Capital, and TA Associates.  Jen joined BackBay from a Boston-based financial communications firm specializing in the asset management industry.  Prior to that, Jen served as an Editorial Assistant for Euromoney magazine in London.  Jen holds an M.A. in Ancient History from University College London, and a B.A. in Classics and English from the College of Charleston.

Kelly Holman

Director

Kelly focuses on developing media relations, brand development and strategic communication programs in BackBay’s New York office. He has extensive financial journalism experience, having reported for more than 10 years on debt and equity capital markets, investment banking, middle market private equity sponsors and large leveraged buyout transactions for industry-leading publications. Before joining BackBay, Kelly was an editor at Investment Dealers’ Digest, where he covered financial sponsors, leveraged finance, M&A dealmakers, regulatory developments and Wall Street banks. Prior to that position, he was a senior writer at The Deal LLC, specializing in private equity coverage. Kelly holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Colorado.      

Amanda Puglisi

Senior Designer

Amanda Puglisi, the Senior Designer at BackBay Communications, has 14 years experience designing brand identities, advertisements, direct mail, annual reports, brochures, magazines and web graphics.  Her past client list includes Advisors Asset Management, Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Continental Airlines, Eddie Bauer, Goodwill Industries, Lindt Chocolates, Reebok, River Associates, and Star Compliance Software.  Amanda holds a B.S. in Graphic Design from Keene State College.
